What is large sheep?

Large sheep are a group of sheep species that have a larger body size compared to other sheep breeds. They are widely distributed around the world, and they possess different physical characteristics, including color, wool quality, and horn shape.

Some of the most common large sheep breeds include Suffolk, Texel, Dorset, Lincoln, and Merino. These breeds are popular because they are robust animals that are known for their good meat and wool production.

The size of a large sheep can vary between breeds, with some sheep weighing over 150 kg (330 lb). They are also usually taller than smaller breeds of sheep and stand at around 1.2-1.5 meters (4-5 feet) tall.

Due to their large size, these sheep require more space, food, and water than smaller breeds. They are often raised on farms for meat, wool, and dairy products.

Large sheep are also known for their calm and gentle temperament, making them popular among farmers. They are social animals that enjoy being in groups and can be easily trained and handled.
